We are recruiting a full time Solar Electrician. This is an opportunity to join a friendly, forward facing and evolving small business.
Purpose of Role
To use a working knowledge of electrical systems to conduct maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostics on existing solar PV systems. Install new solar PV systems to customer standards and to maintain those systems while upholding safety guidelines and complying with codes and regulations. Solar Electricians will report to the Solar Director.
- Lead solar PV installations, and repairs.
- Lay out and install solar PV systems per drawings.
- Install battery storage.
- Install EV Chargers
- System commissioning and software set up.
- Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and domestic solar PV systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring.
- Conduct routine maintenance and testing on commercial and domestic solar PV systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards.
- Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety requirements.
- Install electrical systems to 18th Edition 3rd Amendment wiring regulations.
- Possess working knowledge of IEE regulations and NICEIC requirements.
This is full time role, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00.
Experience
You must have at least two years’ experience as an Electrician and experience of installing solar PV systems.
Key Requirements
- Technical knowledge and experience of installing solar PV systems.
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
- Pass an advanced background check (Advanced DBS Check)
- ECS Gold Card – Registered Electrician
- Valid UK driving license.
- Ability to work in a team and on your own.
- A strong work ethic and can do attitude.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma or equivalent
- 18th Edition (2nd Amendment preferred but not essential)
