We are keen to speak with an experienced and motivated Fire & Security Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Fire and Security system projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple installations and upgrade projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the required quality and safety standards.
The role will cover systems such as:
- Fire Detection & Alarm Systems (BS5839)
- Intruder Alarms
- Access Control
- CCTV Systems
- Life Safety Systems
As a Fire & Security Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Project Planning & Delivery: Coordinate all phases of the project lifecycle, from design approval to commissioning and handover.
- Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and main contractors throughout the project.
- Team Management: Supervise and support engineers, subcontractors, and administrative staff working on your projects.
- Budget Control: Monitor project budgets, manage costs, and report variances.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all site works are carried out in compliance with CDM, RAMS, and relevant H&S legislation.
- Procurement: Order and coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment.
- Project Documentation: Manage all project-related documentation including method statements, risk assessments, commissioning records, and O&M manuals.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management and clients, including project milestones, risks, and resource needs.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure systems are installed and tested in accordance with design specifications, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements.
- Responsible for the monthly accurate updating of the engineering sales invoicing forecast.
- Responsible for ensuring that the correct company documentation is used as per standard issued company documents.
- Responsible for ensuring that non-conformance reports are raised for all issues that arise in contravention of the company quality system.
- Responsible for ensuring that all works / maintenance / projects associated with the department are kept in a tidy and organised manner in line with company policy.
- Has completed and fully complies with the necessary health and safety, quality and environmental training.
- Fully understands and complies with the company’s health and safety, environmental and quality procedures.
- Comply with any additional health and safety, quality and environmental training requirements requested by the client.
We are keen to speak with Fire & Security Project Managers with the following skills:
- Forward planning and project management with the ability to organise and re-prioritise sometimes under considerable pressure.
- Experience in the delivery of fire and security maintenance, small works jobs, project delivery and commissioning.
- A systematic approach to solving complex problems.
- Well-developed people management skills in relation to both office and field-based staff.
- Attentive to detail and able to identify errors swiftly. Actively manage operations reducing errors and maximising opportunities.
- Highly effective verbal/written communication. A professional and high level of interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Relevant industry and electrical experience
- In depth knowledge of the fire alarm security industry and relevant standards
- Commercial, financial knowledge and awareness.
- A knowledge of quality management systems ISO 9001 and industry standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of products of the fire and security market.
