We are looking for an experienced Technical Fire & Security Manager to take a leading role in supporting, developing, and maintaining our CCTV, access control, and security system operations.
This is a primarily office-based role that combines technical leadership with hands-on support — including system design review, commissioning support, advanced fault diagnosis, and both remote and on-site assistance for engineers and customers.
You’ll be the company’s technical point of escalation, ensuring our systems meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support and escalation for CCTV systems (Hikvision & Avigilon), including camera configuration, VMS/NVR setup, recording servers, and network design.
- Design, review, and approve CCTV and access control schematics, cabling topology, and server/network specifications.
- Lead commissioning and fault resolution; support engineers on-site with complex networked system issues.
- Manage integrations between CCTV, access control (2N, Paxton Net2), and alarm platforms (Texecom Cloud).
- Maintain technical documentation, configuration templates, and standard operating procedures.
- Deliver technical training and mentoring to engineers; create runbooks and escalation guides.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers (Hikvision, Avigilon, Texecom, 2N, Paxton) for technical cases, firmware updates, and product support.
- Oversee system health monitoring, remote diagnostics, and technical reporting processes.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong technical background in CCTV systems (Hikvision & Avigilon), including VMS, NVRs, and server/network configuration.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and communicate clearly with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP routing, VLANs, QoS, PoE, subnetting) as applied to security systems.
- Experience with Texecom, 2N network access, and Paxton Net2.
- Demonstrated leadership in technical support or system integration roles.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with fire alarm systems.
- Familiarity with remote monitoring or system health management tools.
- Vendor certifications or qualifications with Hikvision, Avigilon, Texecom, Paxton, or 2N.
- Experience leading a technical team or acting as a senior escalation point.
