We are recruiting for a Credit Controller to join a welcoming team in Ollerton. The Credit Controller is responsible for managing the company’s credit control function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, minimising credit risk, and maintaining strong relationships with customers while supporting overall cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the sales ledger, ensuring customer accounts are accurate and up to date
- Proactively chase overdue invoices via phone, email, and written correspondence
- Allocate and post customer payments, including BACS, cheques, and card payments
- Resolve invoice queries and disputes efficiently in liaison with sales, customer service, and finance teams
- Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers and set appropriate credit limits
- Monitor customer payment behaviour and recommend account actions where necessary
- Prepare weekly and monthly aged debt reports and cash flow forecasts
- Assist with month-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting
- Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures
- Support continuous improvement of credit control processes
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage a high-volume workload

- AAT qualification or working towards one
